When we first talked to GM Early Years leads about the Early Outcomes Fund, one of the themes that many colleagues raised was the need for a thorough evaluation of the existing GM Speech Language and Communication (SLC) pathway to better understand how this is being implemented across Greater Manchester and the impact this is having on children’s communication and language outcomes.
Manchester Metropolitan University agreed to be a strategic partner in the EOF application and its great to have them on board as our EOF research and evaluation partner. Its been exciting to work together over the last 6 weeks alongside research colleagues in the DfE to design the research questions for the EOF project and to think about how we can work together with locality leads to evaluate local implementation of the GM SLC pathway.
More information on the evaluation will be shared at the EOF ‘GM Pathways to Talking’ launch event on 13th June 2019. Invitations have been sent out this so please book a place (2 places have been allocated per locality) – the launch event is being held at MMU Brooks Building 10.00-1.00pm on 13th June. Look out for the email invitation to LA Early Years Leads and SLT Leads.
